Narell
Boys is a vibrant and energetic Wirradjuri woman from Dubbo
in New South Wales, whose artistic prowess is as charming
as her personality.
The road to becoming an Indigenous artist was inevitable
for Narell - her father was a painter, her mother a
storyteller and her grandfather was a great carver.
“I actually grew up with
the arts, it was something I don’t even remember
learning, it was like breathing. You just did it.”
Following the footsteps of her relatives, she hopes
to take on the world with her jewellery pieces. Narell
believes this emerging industry will be a success
without a doubt. Her previous work in painting and
didgeridoo art has reached each corner of the globe
with fruitful export ventures into Europe, North
America and Japan.
Her success has even seen her
lecture at TAFE Colleges and
Griffith University.
Mrs. Boys regularly exhibits
her work at the well known Port
Douglas markets and continues
to diversify in all facets of
Aboriginal creations.
